This combined Pre-K–12 building is the result of a multi-year planning effort to evaluate the district’s existing facilities and develop a modern, efficient, and highly functional replacement campus that reflects the educational needs of the region.

At the heart of this project is San Jon’s strong commitment to agriculture-based and career-focused education. The new facility will feature industry-informed fabrication shops, culinary labs, and STEAM-integrated spaces that provide students with hands-on learning tied directly to real-world skills. These programs are designed to prepare students for the workforce, college-level coursework, and technical certifications in areas such as agri-science, welding, green energy, and food services.

Planning for the new school also involves careful consideration of construction phasing to ensure uninterrupted learning. The existing school will remain fully operational throughout construction, with the new facility strategically sited on the adjacent baseball field and playground.

This phased approach allows for continuous educational service while minimizing disruption to students, staff, and the broader neighborhood. Once the new building is complete, careful scheduling will support a smooth move-in and allow for demolition and redevelopment of the existing structures on site to take place.

Through public meetings, workshops, and close collaboration with district leaders, the design team has worked to ensure that the new facility reflects local priorities, honors the town’s identity, and supports long-term community use.

Design is scheduled to be completed in January 2026 and construction to begin soon after.
